Security

By understanding and managing security risks, Government Security enables government to protect citizens and provide vital public services.

Through its internal and external work, the Home Office Security team directly supports the department’s mission of delivering a safe, fair and prosperous UK.

Our team comprises internal protective security for the Home Office estate, its assets and people, as well as a range of security shared services to government departments. Cyber security, as part of Digital Data & Technology (DDAT), is also a crucial part of the Home Office security provision.

Home Office Security’s clustered and shared services provide personnel and physical security services to a number of government departments, agencies and arm’s length bodies to help them manage a range of threats and vulnerabilities.

As well as supporting the Home Office vision, the shared services teams work closely with the Government Security Group to ensure services meet agreed standards. They also work collaboratively with technical authorities and government security centres.
