Communications

The Communications Directorate is a multi-disciplinary team that works to deliver the Home Office’s communications strategy, aligned to the Home Secretary’s priority areas.

Our aim is to keep citizens safe and the UK secure by providing first-class communications that are insight led and results driven. We strive to deliver the highest quality modern media, rebuttal and social media service; develop and assure the delivery of a clear and effective communications strategy led by audience insight; and support employee engagement, culture and business change.

Our priorities include:

  • Recruiting 20,000 new police officers
  • Helping people who are vulnerable to crime to access support or protect themselves
  • Preventing people from being drawn into extremism
  • Building public confidence to act on terrorism
  • Supporting the successful delivery of the new points-based immigration system
  • Preventing illegal migration
  • Increasing public confidence in border security
  • Rebuilding trust with Windrush communities
  • Building a more open, responsive and people-focused Home Office culture.
