Finance

The Government Finance Function is a broad and inclusive community of over 10,000 people, working across departments, agencies, arms’ length bodies (ALBs) and across the country. We work to break down silos, share excellent best-practice across government, and establish effective relationships with other cross-government professional communities.

Within the Home Office, the Finance Directorate comprises operational finance services, strategic advisory services and transformation programmes that are vital support to delivering the Home Office’s objectives.

The directorate plays a key role in managing the resources that enable the Home Office to deliver departmental priorities. We ensure value for money is achieved for the taxpayer and provide strong stewardship of Home Office assets. Our people are critical to our business success and we are committed to providing opportunities for upskilling and development so that we are all better able to meet the challenges of today and the needs of the future.

We aim to continue to invest in and develop our people so that our customers are supported by a highly skilled and motivated professional workforce.
